Notifying CSC of Leave Without Pay dates (PSSap)

Stay connected – a quick guide to keep you compliant and your employees covered.

04 Oct 2024

Employees may sometimes take leave without pay (LWOP). It's important to report this correctly to ensure their insurance coverage remains active. APS employers should notify PSSap about any LWOP dates, including when the employee will return.

Our insurance policies, including LifePLUS Auto coverage, stay in effect for up to 24 months during LWOP, provided we receive notice before the leave starts.

Delays or incorrect notifications can affect coverage and premiums, impacting members’ benefits.

Here’s a quick action guide:

  • Notify us early: Let us know as soon as LWOP is approved, with start and end dates.
  • Provide return dates: Include a return-to-work date to prevent issues with unauthorised leave.
  • Keep employees informed: Regularly update employees on their leave status and insurance implications.
