CSS estimates

If you are a CSS member, we’ll provide you with a benefit estimate each year on your birthday, until you make a claim1.

Here’s what you need to know before you call us, based on the type of benefit you are estimating:

CSS

Resigning from work (also known as 54/11)

Resigning from employment at least two calendar days before your 55th birthday2.

To supply an estimate, we will need:

  • The date you intend to retire. Please note, we can’t provide an estimate for a date beyond 12 months away.
  • Your super salary at your next birthday, if you will have a birthday before you intend to retire.
  • Your final salary

Age retirement

Resigning from work from age 553.

To supply an estimate, we will need:

  • The date you intend to retire. Please note, we can’t provide an estimate for a date beyond 12 months away.
  • Your super salary at your next birthday, if you will have a birthday before you intend to retire.
  • Your final salary

Transition to Retirement (TTR)

If you have previously initiated a TTR, are still in eligible employment and have reached preservation age.

To supply an estimate, we will need:

  • The date you intend to retire. Please note, we can’t provide an estimate for a date beyond 12 months away.

Redundancy

A Redundancy benefit may apply if you are being made redundant, retrenched, or dismissed from employment at any age.

To produce a redundancy estimate, we will need:

  • A Redundancy Benefit Estimate Request or Departmental Report from your employer indicating that redundancy applies.
  • Your final salary
  • Your birthday salary
  • Your exit date

The information you supply must match the information supplied by your employer.

DFRDB

Retirement

To supply an estimate, we will need:

  • The date you intend to retire or discharge from the ADF. An estimate can be run up to 5 years from your retirement date. If you don’t yet have a date in mind, we can provide an estimate from today’s date.
  • Your rank at transition
  • Your salary and pay increment at transition
  • Your exit type
  • Your commutation election
