Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation welcomes Janet Torney as new Chair

Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Janet Torney as Chair of its Board for a three-year term, commencing on 31 March 2025.

Ms Torney succeeds outgoing chair, Mr Garry Hounsell, who has served close to the maximum nine-year tenure of a CSC Director. She brings extensive superannuation experience, having previously held the role of Chair of trustee boards for Perpetual Superannuation, ANZ Staff Superannuation and Club Plus Superannuation. The appointment was made by Minister for Finance, Senator the Hon Katy Gallagher.

Ms Torney has served on various boards and committees across the superannuation, investments, infrastructure, insurance and engineering sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland (First Class Honours and University Medal), is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and ASFA, and an inaugural Life Member of Australian Business Economists.
