CSC and Legacy Australia extend partnership supporting the families of our veterans

Working together for better outcomes

05 Sep 2024

Building on the success of a joint initiative established in 2020, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) and Legacy Australia announce their continued partnership in 2024.

CSC and Legacy are united through a mutual interest to provide the families and children impacted by the loss or injury of a loved one during service, with readily accessible information, and easy to access support at times of social and financial distress.

Mr Graham Boyd, CEO Legacy Australia Incorporated commented on the partnership, “We are there for the partners and the children of those who gave their lives or their health for our country. Legacy provides the essential social, financial and developmental support that these families depend on each day.

“Building on our partnership with CSC is an important step in ensuring veterans’ families dealing with grief, loss and hardship receive the help they need, with both organisations working together to streamline support and reduce the burden on veterans and their families.”

David Wilton, National Manager, Defence and Veterans Liaison at CSC, works closely with ex-service organisations and highlights how both organisations share a common purpose in the veteran community.

“By connecting our organisations through a refreshed strategic agreement, we are not only reinforcing the importance of continuing to work together for caring, empathetic and easier to navigate support, but also to foster a joint culture of continuous improvement for veterans’ families,” Mr Wilton said.

Legacy supports the partners and children of veterans who have seen their loved ones leave Australian shores to serve in wars from World War 1 and World War 2, to Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and East Timor. Legacy also provides support to the families of those who may have died in the years after serving our nation.

CSC has over 100 years’ experience in providing superannuation services to employees of the Australian Government and members of the Australian Defence Force and is committed to partnering with its members and families, on their retirement journey.

This unique partnership highlights the importance of positive outcomes for families, children and beneficiaries of all veterans, who have made incredible and at times devastating sacrifices for their country.
